No tots els dies te trobes un artista com Ramses Shaffy, nascut propet de París però considerat un dels cantants més importants en neerlandés; no debades, la seua biografia és digna d'una novel·la: inclou un pare egipci, una mare de la noblesa polonesa amb tuberculosi, una infantesa a Canes i un anar-i-vindre entre Utrecht i Leiden, a banda les conseqüències derivades d'allò que cantava en Ik drink. Esta altra cançó, Pastorale, és un de les més famoses, a duo amb la seua inseparable Liesbeth List.
