Is it just me or did Baroness (Mark III) not survive the bus crash? Not only did half of the band call it quits, but both the trauma and lineup changes had to effect further performance and, most notably, songwriting: according to prime monster John Dyer Baizley, Purple is Baroness's (Mark V) finest to date, although a noticeable departure from previous Red, Blue and Yellow & Green releases. In exchange we got some nipples in front cover, always a sight to see.
