Sister Dalton

My favorite singer in the place was Karen Dalton: Karen had a voice like Billie Holiday and played guitar like Jimmy Reed. I sang with her a couple of times.
It's Bob Dylan who praised her: she was friends with him and Fred Neil and not only played the twelve-string, but also a long neck banjo to the amazement the folk audience back in the day. Of Cherokee blood, she'd die after eight years with AIDS and many more of drugs and alcohol but still remains an influential cult singer.
